Isolation is a two player game, played on a grid of 6*8.
The grid is made up of squares, two of which are bolted.
Each player starts with their piece on one of the bolted squares.
A turn consists of moving your piece 1 square in any of the 8 directions onto an empty square. After moving your piece, you must destroy an empty square anywhere on the board. Bolted squares cannot be destroyed.
Each player takes turns moving and destroying until one player is unable to move. This player loses the game.
Thus the object of the game is to trap your opponent with nowhere to move.
To install Isolation, either place it in your GameMaster folder,double click on the Isolation icon, or open it from within GameMaster using the Open╔ menu command.
Note for users of ResEdit.
It is possible to add your own square-destroying animations if you can use the icon editor and have a good general knowledge of how to use ResEdit.
Just design your animations using ICONs, and paste them into the Isolation ICON resource, starting from ID x000, where x is the next 000 up from the last animation. Isolation will automatically detect the animation and use it randomly. Note that Isolation is distributed with 5 animations already. Isolation allows a maximum of 10 animations to be used, namely the first 10. Each animation also has a limit of 40 frames. Don╒t ask me how I time them either, I╒ve forgotten :)
